Before World War II many luxury items were not available to the middle or lower classes. The vacuum was one of those items that many people just could not afford. It wasn’t until the late 80’s that middle class households were able to buy bagless vacuums.
Many European families did not have carpeting so using vacuums were not even a necessity as they would just use mops and water on their floors. Technology has changed so much that many vacuum manufacturers are trying to create different options. One of these new inventions are the cordless bagless vacuums.
For years many companies have been attempting to make cordless bagless vacuums. In early 2000 there were numerous companies that attempted to make robotic vacuum cleaners that run off of batteries. These little vacuums would navigate the preferred room and would pick up dust particles and dump the debris into a dustbin. Some of these models were Roomba, Robomaxx and the Floorbot. The Roomba differs in that it has an impeller motor to create the suction and power. This popular little device sold over 570,000 unit’s worldwide.
Even prominent companies like Dyson are looking into the cordless bagless vacuum. The Dyson vacuum company is creating a robotic vacuum cleaner called the Dyson DC06 robot which claims to have 3 on board computers. It is not know when they will be releasing the product though.
So why use a cordless bagless vacuum?
If you do not want a robotic vacuum and are just looking for a cordless option then you will not be surprised to find many different options available. These vacuums do tend to be a bit pricier as you are mostly purchasing the battery option.
In the end though are cordless bagless vacuums really needed? If you are looking for a powerful vacuum that does not have a cord then you may be out of luck. Cordless bagless vacuums are mostly used for small areas that do not have a power connection. They can be very handy for small jobs in an office setting.
